DT President Dr. Pathania conducts comprehensive review of temples in Kashmir

Takes stock of Mela Kheer Bhawani arrangements

Srinagar: Dr. P.S. Pathania, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Dharmarth Trust, conducted an extensive tour of Kashmir province to review the functioning of temples falling under the ambit of the Trust. He also reviewed arrangements at the revered Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulla Mula, Ganderbal district ahead of the forthcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani, scheduled on Jyeshta Ashtami, June 3.

During his visit to the ancient shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani, Dr. Pathania thoroughly inspected the ongoing preparations and took stock of facilities being put in place for the smooth and comfortable experience of the devotees. He issued necessary directions to the temple staff and management to ensure that all arrangements are made in a seamless and hassle-free manner.

Sharing details about the preparations, Dr. Pathania asserted that as per the directions of Hon’ble Chairman Trustee Dr Karan Singh ji and other Trustees, all necessary infrastructure and amenities for the pilgrims’ stay, movement, and Darshan have already been arranged, including sanitation, medical aid, lighting, and accommodation. “The Trust is fully committed to providing state-of-the-art facilities to the visiting devotees and upholding the sanctity and spiritual ambience of this sacred festival,” he said.

Dr. Pathania also met with the District Commissioner of Ganderbal to discuss key logistical issues, including security bandobast, drinking water supply, uninterrupted electricity, and other civic requirements during the Mela days. He appreciated the administration’s cooperation and assured coordination for a successful and peaceful conduct of the annual event.

As part of his broader review, Dr. Pathania also visited prominent temples across the Valley, including Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar, Shiv Temple in Gulmarg, Gauri Shankar Temple in Pahalgam, and Gadhadhar Temple in Srinagar. He reviewed the existing facilities, ongoing maintenance works, and religious activities being carried out at each location.

He issued necessary directions to the temple managers and priests to maintain cleanliness, improve devotee services, and enhance overall management practices. He emphasized the importance of devotion, discipline, and dedication in preserving these centers of spiritual heritage.

Dr. Pathania reiterated that the Dharmarth Trust remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard and promote the religious and cultural ethos of Jammu & Kashmir.
