DDMA B’la conducts comprehensive Mock Drill to enhance disaster preparedness
BARAMULLA, MAY 22: In an effort to bolster disaster preparedness among students, civil society members, and various stakeholders, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Baramulla today conducted a comprehensive mock drill and emergency preparedness exercise at Government Degree College Baramulla.

The exercise aimed to sensitize the public, especially youth, about the importance of swift and coordinated response mechanisms during disaster situations. Various key departments and emergency response units participated in the event, showcasing their critical roles in managing and mitigating disaster impacts.
During the exercise, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Defence Baramulla held a series of demonstrations focused on disaster preparedness, rescue operations, and mitigation strategies, highlighting the importance of quick response techniques, evacuation procedures, and community involvement during times of disasters.
Meanwhile, officials of the Health Department provided insights into managing health emergencies, with a special focus on administering first aid, triaging patients, and setting up emergency medical camps in the wake of disasters.
Fire and Emergency Services department conducted practical demonstrations related to fire safety, firefighting techniques, and precautionary measures to prevent fire-related incidents.
Assistant Commissioner Baramulla, Arshad Ahmad Khan lauded the efforts of DDMA Baramulla for organizing this mock drill and stressed the importance of such drills in equipping the community with life-saving skills.
The event was also attended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla, Deputy Controller SDRF, Principal of Government Degree College Baramulla, Consultant DDMA, and other officers and officials.
