International Museum Day celebrated at historic Krimchi Temples- Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, MAY 18: The Archaeological Survey of India, Srinagar Circle today celebrated International Museum Day with great enthusiasm here at the historic 8th century Krimchi Group of Temples.


The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, as the Chief Guest accompanied by other senior officials.


A Photo Exhibition showcasing the cultural and archaeological richness of the J&K region and World Heritage Sites of India and Asia pacific region was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner.


A QR code-based information system was also launched by the Deputy Commissioner providing visitors with digital access to the site’s historical and archaeological details.


While addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasized the role of museums in cultural preservation, education and promoting heritage awareness. Dr. Piyush Bhatt, Superintending Archaeologist, Srinagar Circle, highlighted museums as custodians of history and tools for inspiring future generations.


Students from Indira Priyadarshini Memorial High School, Krimchi actively participated in a drawing competition centered on heritage themes. A colourful cultural programme featuring local music and dance added vibrancy to the occasion.


The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Piyush Bhatt and supported by the dedicated staff of ASI, Srinagar Circle.
