Kishtwar showcases sports excellence: Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions Energize the District
KISHTWAR, MAY 14: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Kishtwar, under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan, is witnessing a vibrant celebration of youth talent and sports excellence as Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions are being conducted with great enthusiasm across all zones of the District.

The long drawn tournaments, held in Kishtwar, Nagseni, Drabshalla and Paddar Zones, highlighted the athletic abilities, sportsmanship, and team spirit of students from different schools.
The district is pulsating with energy as U-14 girls engage in a diverse range of sports including Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Rope Skipping, Volleyball, Yoga, Chess, Carrom, and Badminton. Events are being conducted at key venues such as Chowgan Ground, HSS Boys, and ITI, creating a festive atmosphere that promotes camaraderie and healthy competition.
The event hosted at BVM and Chowgan Ground in Zone Nagseni features Chess and Carrom competitions for U-17 boys and girls, along with Yoga sessions for U-14 and U-17 categories (boys and girls). With 233 enthusiastic participants from various schools, the events have showcased a high level of skill, focus, and dedication.
On its fourth consecutive day, Zone Drabshalla conducted Athletics for U-14 boys and girls at Bimalnag Binoon. The competitions have drawn spirited performances from young athletes, who are demonstrating commendable agility and sportsmanship in track and field events.
The Zone Paddar featured Athletics, Cricket, and Yoga for U-14 boys. A total of 45 students, drawn from schools across the zone, are actively participating, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm across multiple disciplines.
All events are being held under the guidance of DYSSO Jaffer Haider Sheikh.
