Alumni Interaction held at School of Mechanical Engineering
The School of Mechanical Engineering (SoME) hosted an alumni interaction session with two distinguished alumni, Anketa Jandyal (2018 Batch) from Cognizant Technology Solutions and Sonal Bhatia (2018 Batch) from Jindal Stainless Steel Limited.

The eventĀ was aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing students with valuable insights into career paths, industry trends, and the skill sets needed to succeed in todayās competitive job market. Ms.Anketa Jandyal, who is working as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant, shared her journey from the classroom to the corporate world. She discussed the technical and soft skills essential for thriving in the IT industry, stressing the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and effective communication. Anketa’s session was a powerful reminder of how perseverance and dedication can lead to success in the fast-paced technology sector. Ms. Sonal Bhatia, an Executive in Supply Chain at Jindal Stainless Steel Limited, also discussed her experiences in the manufacturing and logistics sector. Sonal emphasized the critical role of supply chain management in industrial operations and highlighted the importance of problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills. Her talk resonated with students interested in pursuing careers in supply chain and operations management, providing a real-world perspective on the industry’s demands. The alumni also spoke about the challenges and opportunities that exist outside of academia, offering advice on how students can prepare for the realities of the professional world. They discussed the evolving industrial scenario, the significance of internships, and the value of networking in securing jobs. Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head of SoME, Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Associate Dean, International and Alumni Affairs thanked the esteemed alumni for sharing the experiences. Prof. Yugal Khajuria,Dean International and Alumni Affairs expressed their gratitude towards the alumni for their valuable contributions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Pragati Kumar extended his best wishes to the alumni and students, emphasizing the importance of such interactions in helping students understand the industry landscape beyond their academic curriculum.
