A select group of undergraduate and postgraduate students from the School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University participated in a pioneering workshop titled “Bringing Tribal Culture and Language into the Technical Landscape” hosted at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu.

The event brought together scholars, academicians, and cultural researchers to explore innovative ways to preserve and integrate tribal languages and traditions within emerging technological frameworks. The students were accompanied by Dr. Anurag Kumar, Associate Professor and Head of the School of Languages and Literature, who also contributed as a panelist in the session “Navigating Socio-Cultural Terrains among the Gujjars of Jammu and Kashmir.” His insights shed light on the complexities and richness of Gujjar cultural identity and the imperative to bridge socio-cultural knowledge with modern technological platforms.
