RS Pura Station heritage site to boost tourism, support economy: Dr. Narinder Singh
Dr. Narinder visits historic RS Pura railway station, also dedicates completed development work to public
Jammu has rich historical and cultural significance, and developing its heritage sites can boost tourism, preserve culture, and support the local economy. This is no different for the historical site of RS Pura Railway Station. The station was a crucial part of the Jammu-Sialkot railway line, which served as a vital trade route and connection between the two regions.

This was stated by Dr. Narinder Singh, MLA RS Pura-Jammu South and BJP National Secretary, while visiting the heritage Railway Station site at RS Pura.
BJP senior leader Brijeshwar Singh Rana, Mandal President Naveen, Mandal General Secretary Krishan Lal, Councilors Lucky Chabra & Lucky, Om Parkash Chachu and other prominent leaders also accompanied Dr. Narinder Singh during the visit to the heritage railway station site at RS Pura.
On the occasion, he also dedicated the just concluded development works related to the lanes and drains to the local residents in the RS Pura area.
While sharing the information about the development works, Dr. Narinder Singh said that development work of ‘Lane and drain’ costing Rupees 8 lakh in Malikpur panchayat is completed, with the completion of another work of ‘Lane and drain’ costing Rupees 10 lakh in RS Pura. He said that as the dedicated public representative, he believes in serving the people and to go an extra mile in sorting out the issues faced by the masses.
On the development of the RS Pura Railway Station, Dr. Narinder Singh said that the historical railway station will be renovated with the estimated cost of Rupees 1.5 Crore. He informed that the tender has already been floated for maintenance of the building. He stressed that this heritage work will boost tourism at RS Pura, Suchetgarh and Gharana wetlands.
He said that the Suchetgarh Border, Gharana Wetland will be linked to other sites via good quality roads with the construction of flyovers and other infrastructure. He stated that the ring road also boosted the transport system and is helping to boost the economic activities in the area. He said that similar types of works to boost heritage tourism will also be planned in near future.
