BJYM Jammu & Kashmir Holds Protest Against Congress Over Corruption Charges in National Herald Scam

“From the Jeep Scandal to 2G Spectrum scam and now the National Herald case, corruption seems deeply embedded in the DNA of the Congress party,” remarked Arun Prabhat

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu and Kashmir, led by State President Arun Prabhat, held a strong protest demonstration today outside the Press Club, Dogra Chowk, Jammu, against the Indian National Congress and its top leadership, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, over alleged massive corruption in the National Herald Scam.

Raising slogans against the Congress party’s misdeeds, BJYM activists marched with placards denouncing financial fraud, institutional misuse, and systematic looting of public funds by the Congress leadership. The protest culminated in the burning of an effigy representing Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, signifying public outrage over the blatant misuse of power for personal and political gain.

Addressing the media during the protest, Arun Prabhat said, “The National Herald case is not just about a financial fraud, but a glaring example of how the Congress party and its leaders, particularly the Gandhi family, have consistently treated national institutions as their private property. The funds meant for the people of India were brazenly diverted to benefit a few at the top.”

The National Herald case, currently under judicial scrutiny, involves the alleged acquisition of the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) by Young Indian—a company in which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi hold the majority stake—without compensating shareholders or clearing dues owed to the government. Critics and investigating agencies have pointed to the wrongful acquisition of assets worth thousands of crores, including prime real estate properties across major cities, under the guise of reviving a defunct newspaper.

BJYM further condemned the long history of the Congress party’s fiscal misgovernance, patronage politics, and institutional manipulation. Arun Prabhat accused the Congress of shielding corrupt practices under political cover and reiterated BJYM’s commitment to exposing and resisting corrupt forces in Indian politics.

The demonstration was attended by scores of BJYM workers youth activists including Abhishek Slathia, Yuvraj Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Ishant Mahajan, Dr. Himja Mengi, Priyanka Mahajan, Luvdeval Sharma, Adv. Amit Sharma, Sonika Sharma, Rajat Singh Manhas, Monu Slathia, Rohit Sharma, Sagar Singh Kotwal, Kanav Sharma, Akash Singh Slathia, Naveen Jaiswal, Monu Slathia, Pawan Singh Manhas, Raman Sharma, Shubham Manhas, Rahul Pardhan, and senior BJP leaders from the region. The protest ended with chants of accountability and transparency, calling upon investigating agencies to expedite the legal proceedings and bring the culprits to justice.

BJYM Jammu & Kashmir reaffirmed its resolve to carry forward its mission of a corruption-free India, echoing the sentiments of the youth of the nation who demand clean governance and political integrity.
