Joint Meeting of National Conference – Congress Held in Jagti, Minitown: Focus on KP Betterment*
Jammu April 29th: A joint meeting of the National Conference (NC) and Congress was convened at Minitown ship Jagti, presided over by Bushan Lal Bhat, former MLC, and Shadi Lal Pandita, convener of the Congress Migrant Cell. The meeting observed discussions on the historical role of both parties in advocating for the betterment of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) pre and post-migration.
Bushan Lal Bhat emphasized the longstanding efforts of NC and Congress in championing KP causes, citing their dedication to KP welfare even amidst challenging circumstances. Shadi Lal, echoing party directives, urged support for NC candidates in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of the INDI Alliance in the Valley’s political landscape.
Jatin Bhat lauded the initiatives of the Omar Abdullah-led government, highlighting its role in providing employment opportunities for educated KPs and spearheading infrastructure development projects, such as the construction of two-room accommodations. He also underscored the significance of the Apex Advisory Committee in bridging the gap between KPs and the government, addressing a spectrum of community concerns.
Kaka Ji Bhan, the Jagti incharge, rallied the camp’s residents to turn out in force to support NC candidates from the Kashmir Valley.
Adarsh Sangram party led by Inder ji Labroo also extended his support to NC candidates of Kashmir valley.
Notable speakers for the forgotten rights of the Kashmiri Pandit community at the meeting included Ashok Koul,Shadi Lal Tickoo , Shriya Handoo and Veer Ji. The gathering witnessed the presence of prominent figures from both parties, signaling a unified front in advocating for KP interests.
