Army organises “Ex-Servicemen Meet” at Bhandarkut Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, January 18: In an endeavour to outreach Army veterans of the region, Army today organised an Ex-Servicemen Meet at Bhandarkut, Distt-Kishtwar (J&K).
40 Veterans, 11 Widows, One Veer Mata and 27 dependents attended the event.
During the event, Army Officials informed the veterans about various schemes and programmes which are beneficial to them and families. The event was aimed to address issues concerning the veterans and acquainting them with various schemes and plans for enhancing quality of life and reducing hardships even after retirement.
During the meet, routine medical checkups were carried out by Specialist Medical Officers and essential medicines were also provided. To make the event colourful students of Girls High School, Durbeel displayed their culture by dance and song. The widows and Veer Matas have been honoured with Kashmiri Shawl. The Meet culminated with the National Anthem.
The meet was an endeavour by the Army to address the grievances of Veterans and their dependents and express gratitude towards their service to the Nation. The Veterans expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the Indian Army and appreciated the efforts for honouring them.
