DC B’la discusses Action Plan for implementation of PM Vishwakarma scheme
Initiative aims to uplift local Entrepreneurs; working proactively to ensure socio-economic empowerment of Artisans: Dr Sehrish
BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 12: In its endeavour to uplift traditional entrepreneurs, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today exhorted upon all the concerned departments to work in a coordinated and proactive manner for socio-economic empowerment of traditional artisans and craftspeople in Baramulla district.
The DC passed these directions during a meeting held to discuss the action plan for implementation of PM Vishwakarma scheme in Baramulla.
Dr Sehrish discussing action plan threadbare called for imparting financial and skill training to the local traditional artisans and craftspeople in the district adding that the scheme officers a variety of benefits to the artisans including toolkit incentive of Rs.15000, Rs 500 per day during training, credit facilities to the beneficiaries up to 1 lakh (first tranche) and 2 Lakh (second tranche) at a concessional interest rate of 5%.
The DC also emphasized for registering and recognition of artisans of Baramulla so as to facilitate them with various incentives as envisaged under the scheme.
Furthermore, a special focus was laid on skill upgradation for which line departments were directed to work proactively for the socio-economic development of the local traditional artisans and craftspeople.
Joint Director Planning Baramulla, M.Yousuf Rather; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Shabir Ahmad Hakak; Lead District Manager Baramulla besides other functionaries of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
