Tara Dohavali’- a book of Dohas by Prof. Tara Nath released at GDC Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 8: As a part enhancing literary treasure and activities in Udhampur, the ‘Meri Mitra Mandali: Ek Sahityik Kranti’ today released ‘Tara Dohavali’ a book of Dohas penned by Prof. Taranath, here at release function held in the conference hall of Government Degree College Udhampur.
The book release ceremony was performed by epic poet Shri Prakash Premi ji in presence of the Poet Prof. Taranath, his family members, members of Meri Mitra Mandali and a galaxy of literateurs and book lovers.
The welcome speech was delivered by Mandali Pradhan Surjit Hosh Badsali, while the critical article on the released book was read by the renowned young poet and writer Babu Bhatti.
In his welcome speech, while talking about the achievements of the Mandali so far, the president of Mandali, Sh Surjit Hosh Badsali, said that Mandali was committed to inculcating literary consciousness among the masses. He said that apart from working against many unwanted disorders in poetry, Mandali is also working on prose genres. In the context of mother languages, he said “We should respect everyone’s mother tongue and wish that literary works continue to happen and usher in all mother languages.”
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, The Epic-poet of Dogri Shri Prakash Premi ji said that Tara Dohavali, the second book of Prof. Tara Nath after the 1st book on Dogri Ballads “Sur-Lehri”, is a commendable effort, which should be appreciated as well as the literature lovers should also read the couplets (Dohas) compiled in this book. He said that the ushering of Mandali in Udhampur is a major literary event of the twenty-first century. The work that the Mandali has done and is doing in the field of literature, its impact has been and would be seen by generations to come.
On this occasion Subhash Dogra, a member of Prof. Tara Nath’s family, also kept his views on the book released and also Appreciated the work of the Mandali.
Babu Bhatti read the critical paper on Tara Dahavali and in a scholarly manner talked in length and breadth about the book, which did the work of connecting the audience with the book completely.
The main attraction of the program was singing of the Dohas from the Dohavali of Prof. Tara Nath ji, by Mohinder Pancharvi.

Apart from the members of the Mandali, many litterateurs and literature lovers, young aspirants and would-be writers were also present in this programme.
In the end, Neeraj Sharma, Upadhyaksh of the Mandali, expressed his gratitude to the audience and all present. He apprised all that with this kind of support and cooperation, they all increased the enthusiasm of the Mandali. Maintain this kind of cooperation so that this Mahayagya of literature continues like this.
