648th Parkash Utsav of Guru Ravidass Celebrated with Religious Fervour at Kattal Batal
Nagrota, May 22: The 648th Parkash Utsav of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj was celebrated with great religious enthusiasm and devotion at Kattal Batal, Nagrota. The grand religious congregation witnessed the participation of devotees from various parts of the region.

Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri Maharaj graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered a spiritual discourse that left the gathering inspired. Vijay Lochan, Chairman of JKNC SC Cell, was the Guest of Honour.
The programme was meticulously organized under the leadership of Rattan Lal, President of Guru Ravidass Sabha, Kattal Batal. The premises of the Sabha were beautifully decorated, and devotional songs and bhajans filled the air, creating a spiritual ambiance.
During the programme, Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri Maharaj honoured Vijay Lochan for his selfless service towards the general public.
Addressing the gathering, Swami Gurdeep Giri Maharaj said that Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings of equality, love, and devotion are timeless and continue to guide humanity toward a just and compassionate society.
Gurdeep Giri Maharaj urged the followers to walk on the path of righteousness and service as laid down by the revered Guru Ji. “The message of Guru Ravidass Ji transcends caste and creed and is a beacon of light for all mankind,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Lochan lauded the efforts of the Guru Ravidass Sabha in promoting social harmony and spreading the teachings of the great saint. He reiterated that the present Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led government is deeply committed to the welfare and upliftment of marginalized and weaker sections of society. He assured the gathering that every effort will be made to resolve the issues being faced by these communities, particularly in terms of education, employment, and social justice.
The event concluded with a community langar, served to all devotees, signifying unity and brotherhood.
