4th of  Winter Camp GDCW Kathua Organizes Plantation Drive

Kathua, Dec 31: A Huge Plantation Drive was organized by NSS unit of Government Degree College for Women in the Campus on 31-12-2022 in which near about 80 trees of different varieties including Gauva, Mango, Amla, Arjun and Pongonise were planted in the large Campus of college which had lot of significance in our daily life.

Dr Arun Dev Singh NSS Programme Officer told our correspondent that the NSS volunteers of the College ,they started their work from the early morning regarding the preparation of drive like digging of Pits at various points of the college. He added that it was very hard task of digging pits for 80 plants but their consistent efforts succeeded them planting trees.

He also said that the NSS volunteers who participated in the drive were divided into 5 different groups for the assignment regarding digging the pits, arranging water and cleaning the area where the plants were planted.

Prof Ashwani Khajuria Sr. Faculty member was asked about the significance of drive he replied that the NSS volunteers are working hard under the guidance of Dr Arun Dev Singh NSS programme officer helped to organize a drive in which large number of plants have been planted today and all of them are beneficial and fruit and medicinal plants and quotes such drive spread a positive message among the people.

He also disclosed that this drive was one of the largest drives of India in which NSS volunteers planted 80 Plants. He conveyed that 7 Day Long Winter Camp is going on under the Patronage of Dr Sangita Nagari esteemed Principal of the College, and today is day 4th of the 7 Day long Winter Camp.

It was only possible by the efforts of Dr Arun Dev Singh NSS Programme Officer who arranged 80 tree plants by making request to the Department of Forest Kathua Despite of Plantation Drive our NSS volunteers participated in awareness campaign which was organized by District Traffic Police Mr Ganshyam Andotra DTI Kathua addressed the Volunteers by telling them regarding traffic rules and importance of Road Safety.
