29 apprehended in last 5 months for cultivation of Poppy Straw: Baramulla Police

BARAMULLA, 21 June: Launching a heavy crackdown on drug menace, District Police Baramulla has arrested 29 persons in last 5 months of 2023 in connection with the cultivation of Poppy Straw informed Baramulla Police.

It is learnt that 9 cases have been registered under NDPS Act.

Baramulla Police has destroyed Illicit cultivation of Poppy Straw on 16 Kanals of land in the district i.e. Kamalkote Uri, Madian Uri, Poshnag Kreeri, Zaspora Tangmarg, Pazalpora Tangmarg, Khamindarpora Tangmarg, Mehrajpora Kungamdara, Cheksari Pattan and Dangerpora Pattan.
