22 newly Trained MAITRIs Inducted by Animal Husbandry Department Kishtwar 

KISHTWAR, AUGUST 05: The Animal Husbandry Department Kishtwar proudly announces the induction of Twenty-Two (22) newly trained Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians for Rural India (MAITRIs) into its services with aim and objective to  provide round-the-clock Artificial Insemination, Vaccination, and Veterinary First Aid services to the farmers of Kishtwar District.

The MAITRI scheme aims to empower educated local youth by providing them with comprehensive training to deliver essential veterinary services to rural communities, including Artificial Insemination, Vaccination, De-worming, and more. This initiative not only fosters skill development but also enables these young professionals to earn a livelihood while contributing to the welfare of farmers in the region.

Welcoming, the newly inducted MAITRIs, CAHO Kishtwar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen, provided an overview of the services and schemes offered by the Animal Husbandry Department. These include vital aspects such as vaccination, de-worming, castration, Artificial Insemination, and advanced techniques like Sex Sorted Semen (SSS) and IDDS.

Additionally, he emphasized the significance of the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IPDP) in the betterment of livestock rearing and urged the MAITRIs to raise awareness about these schemes among farmers, ensuring that maximum beneficiaries avail the benefits of the Department’s initiatives.

The Animal Husbandry Department Kishtwar remains committed to its mission of uplifting rural livelihoods, enhancing agricultural practices, and promoting animal welfare. With the induction of these highly skilled MAITRIs, the department takes another step forward in providing quality veterinary services to the farming community of Kishtwar District.
