11th International Yoga Day celebrated at CSIR-IIIM Leh with theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”
JAMMU, JUNE 21: The 11th International Yoga Day, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, was observed with great enthusiasm on 21st June 2025 at the CSIR-IIIM Jammu, MoS&T, Experimental R&D Station, Palam, Chuchot Yokma, Leh, in collaboration with APEDA (Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India) and the Agriculture Department, Palam Farm.



The celebration witnessed active participation from local farmers, students, villagers, staff, and workers. Among the notable attendees were Ms. Stanzin Edong, JAEO (Agriculture Department, Palam Farm, Leh); Mr. Haider Ali, Namberdar of Chuchot Yokma; and Mr. Mohd Taqi, representative Namberdar of Chuchot Gongma.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Tsewang Rigzen BDM (APEDA, Regional Office Leh), who highlighted the significance of yoga in daily life and emphasized its role in improving health and managing stress.
Under the guidance of instructor Ms. Rinchen Dolma, participants performed various yoga asanas with dedication and discipline. Mr. Zabir Ahmad, TA (CSIR-IIIM, Palam Farm, Leh), encouraged the adoption of yoga among youth and farming communities for better health, especially considering Ladakh’s challenging climatic conditions.
As a token of appreciation, T-shirts and caps were distributed to participants. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, followed by refreshments for all. More than just a commemoration, the celebration exemplified the spirit of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, serving as a vibrant convergence of scientific endeavor, agricultural outreach, and community engagement.
