The painting competition was organised by the district administration and Police Bandipora to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage students to use art as a medium for social change.

Over 150 students from schools and colleges across the district participated with enthusiasm, conveying powerful messages of unity, resilience, and a drug-free future through their paintings.

The programme also featured a skit by students of Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora on responsible parenting, cultural performances by students, and a play by artists from the Cultural Unit Srinagar of DIPR, all underlining the collective role of parents and society in tackling the menace of drugs.

She underlined the importance of responsible parenting and urged parents to maintain open, two-way communication with their children, encouraging them to share their daily experiences.

She also advised students to avoid excessive use of mobile phones, noting that healthy parent–child interaction can be an effective tool in addressing challenges faced by youth.

Winners of the competition were felicitated with prizes, while certificates were awarded to top performers at both school and college levels. All participants were commended for their meaningful contributions.
