DEO Rajouri discusses rationalization of polling stations, emerging issues
RAJOURI, JUNE 13: District Election Officer Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today discussed the rationalization of polling stations and other issues requiring attention.
The meeting was attended by ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; ADC Kalakote, Krishan Lal; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; SDM Thanamandi, Vikas Dhar; Dy DEO, Parveen Akhter and Tehsildars.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion on a number of issues including a proposal for appointment of EROs, AEROs for new ACs as per delimitation order, disposal of pending claims and objections on ERONET, a proposal for rationalization of the polling station, submission of district SVEEP plan, etc was held.
Addressing the officers in the meeting, the District Election Officer (DEO) directed the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to work out proposals for rationalization of polling stations wherever necessary strictly as per the norms and timelines set by the Election Commission of India.
The DEO also stressed the rationalization of polling stations and verification of minimum assured facilities thereat.
He also said that the officers should submit photos of the polling station and should ensure Ramp, water supply, power, and Washroom facilities in the polling stations.
He also directed the EROs and AEROs to work in close coordination and carry out verification and give their suggestions, if any at the earliest to facilitate appropriate action as per the ECI guidelines and to submit the proposals for rationalization of polling stations to the concerned authorities.
