KUPWARA, June 17: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved in the implementation of Mission Amrit Sarovar for construction and rejuvenation of water bodies, ponds and storage tanks across the district.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues relating to successful achievement of the Mission Amrit Sarovar. The DDC reviewed all aspects and received feedback from the concerned officers.
The DDC emphasized on the importance of construction and upgradation of water bodies under Mission Amrit Sarovar. The concerned officers were directed to immediately start the execution process as per the approved plan, so that instructions of Lt Governor and Chief Secretary J&K are fulfilled in letter and spirit.
During the course of deliberations various decisions were taken.
It was intimated that 573 works of various forest divisions stands approved by the District Administration as per the recommendation of RDD and concerned Forest divisions to the extent of Rs 1098 lacs, with 5 lac Man-days earmarked during current financial year.
The Executive Engineer, REW was asked to provide DFOs a typical design of estimate along with approved rates so that they may formulate the required estimates within one week and start execution process.
The DDC fixed 10 days timeline for submission of estimates along with typical design to his office for accord of administrative approval and start execution work. The execution process along with geo-tagged photographs shall be shared with the District Administration.
The ACD, Kupwara was directed to submit the proposed works list under Catch the Rain initiative, 5 per panchayat, in all 385 panchayats under MGNREGA within 03 days so that approval is granted.
It was also given out that as many as 68 new water bodies shall be constructed during the current financial year through various departments under Mission Amrit Sarovar in the district.
The DDC directed officers to focus on aesthetic aspects, qualitative measures and eco-friendly approach while executing the works in forest areas.
The executive engineers of I & FC Kupwara and Handwara and concerned DFOs were asked to provide the details of ongoing works to Joint Director Planning Kupwara along with geo-tagged photographs so that the progress is uploaded on MIS portal through ACD Kupwara.
Regarding execution of works in respect of 42 water bodies proposed under Samridh Seema Yojana, it was decided that I&FC Department shall formulate DPRs of desilting, Pondage area development and development of proper inlet/outlets/spill away supply channel under BADP and PMKSY component.
The DPRs along with pre execution photographs (geo coordinates) shall be formulated in respect of 42 ponds/water bodies within 10 days and shall be submitted to Joint Director Planning, Kupwara for consolidation and further appropriate action.
