Directs executing agencies to ensure completion of works
KUPWARA, June 1: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today conducted an extensive tour of Vilgam tehsil of Kupwara district and took stock of the developmental works on the spot.
The DDC inspected ongoing works of under construction Degree College Vilgam coming up at a cost of Rs.3.56 crore. He was informed that 60 percent of work has been completed with an expenditure of Rs.2.8 crore. The DDC directed concerned executing agencies to speed up the execution work and ensure completion within the target time.
The DDC also inspected ongoing macadamization work on Kunan-Poshpora road. He directed the concerned engineers to gear up the work and connect other links. He was informed that Kunan-Poshpora road project has 17 Km length for upgradation and widening from 12 feet to 18 feet. The project has an estimated cost of Rs.12.25 crore. He was informed that 45% physical work have been executed and an expenditure of Rs.4 crore has been expended so far.
The DDC inspected Bangergund bridge and directed the concerned Executing agency for timely completion of the bridge so that better connectivity could be provided to the people of the area.
The DDC also inspected various other ongoing works and took stock of the execution on spot. He said the objective of on spot visit and review of construction work is to ensure that all ongoing works should be completed within the current financial year. He enjoined upon the concerned officers to redouble their efforts and ensure that all works be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Later, the DDC paid surprise visit to Government High School Kunan and Health Sub Centre Kunan. During the visit, he interacted with the students and teachers and took stock of the functioning of Health facility.
