DDC Kathua chairs DAC meeting on implementation of PC& PNDT Act
KATHUA, April 30: The District Advisory Committee on the implementation of the PC&PNDT Act in the district met today under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav at the Conference Hall of DC office complex.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on various issues which included registration and renewal of ultrasound centres, implementation of preconception and prenatal diagnostic techniques Act, Regulation of GCCs, Labs and Clinics, Offences and penalties, Provision of registration, Inspection, mechanism for monitoring and implementation of PC & PNDT Act etc.
The meeting was informed that there are 12 ultrasound clinics in the district including 7 private and 5 government.
The DDC stressed upon effective implementation of the PC & PNDT Act and asked for conducting random inspections of ultrasound clinics to enforce its compliance.
“Special teams will be constituted to conduct inspections of the ultrasound clinics to identify and penalize the defaulters” he said.
Reacting to the suggestion given by Member DAC, Advocate Sushil Gupta, DDC directed CMO to ensure proper maintenance of the register of clinical establishments.
The meeting was attended by the DSP, DHO, TSWO, Gynecologist SDH Basohli, Pediatrician SDH Hiranagar besides other members of DAC.
