DDC Doda participates in Block Diwas program at Bhaderwaha

Redresses grievances of locals on the spot


Seeks report on Sartingal Power House, Thanala PHE scheme



DODA, February 09: District Development Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma today participated in the Block Diwas program here at BDO Office Bhaderwah, wherein he met scores of deputations of locals and PRIs and listened to their grievances.


The PRI members and locals projected various issues of public importance. They demanded MGNREGA material payment, replacement of wooden rotten poles, verification of PMAY Urban houses, 14 FC works, Payment of pending instalments of PMAY houses, verification of defunct Sartingal Powerhouse, verification of Thanala PHE scheme, completion of Panchayat Ghars, putting completed Panchayat Ghars to use, the inclusion of genuine left out beneficiaries under Urban Awaas plus, besides other important public issues. The DDC paid for patient hearing and passed on the spot directions for time-bound redress of the same.



Regarding the Panchayat Ghars issue, the DDC directed the BDO to take up the matter with DPO and resolve the same on a priority basis. He directed the EO MC Bhaderwah to coordinate with the concerned and to ensure the inclusion of all the left out beneficiaries under Awass plus.


With regard to the convenience of the people coming from the far-off places to participate in the Block Divas, the DDC directed the ADC to ensure that from the next week onwards the block Diwas shall be organised at the block level.


He directed the ADC to monitor the proceedings to ensure that the record of grievances was maintained for follow up action. He further directed the ADC to establish a 24*7 control room at Bhaderwah on the line of the DC office.



With regard to the Sartingal Powerhouse and Thanala PHE scheme, the DDC directed the ADC to enquire into the matter and submit the factual report to his office within ten days. He directed the PWD to complete the remaining work of Seri Bazar Park at the earliest.


He also directed PDD to write to the higher authorities to meet the demand for the replacement of the rotten poles.


The DC accompanied by SSP and other senior officers went around the town and took stock of the traffic and development related issues.


Directions were also issued for strict enforcement of traffic management, construction of circular roads for ease of traffic scenario, identification and notification of parking places, regulation of areas notified as ‘ no traffic’ zones and ‘one-way traffic zones ‘.

The Block Divas was also held across the designated places in the district.


During the day-long proceedings of Block Diwas as many as 72 grievances/applications were received, of which 65 feasible grievances were redressed by the officers/officials of respective departments on the spot. Besides several services which included 21 category certificates, 83 Domicile certificates, and 05 birth/ death certificates were provided to the people on the spot.
