DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr & Eid-ul-Fitr

POONCH April 28: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet on Thursday reviewed the arrangements for Shab-e-Qadr, Jumatul Vida and Eid ulFitr in a meeting with officers of line departments.



The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the availability of drinking water, power, mutton, poultry, ration, security, Medicare facilities and LPG in the district besides other essential items in the markets.


Representatives of religious organisations put forth several demands and suggestions for making fool proof arrangements for the convenience of the public.


After threadbare discussion, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned departments to regulate supply of food grains, power and drinking water effectively.


The Police and Traffic authorities were directed to ensure security around the Mosques and

better traffic management to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees.



The PWD and PHE departments were asked to provide power supply to Eidgah and put in place water tankers as per need, while Fire Services department was asked to be ready to meet any eventuality.


The DC further directed the FCS&CA, Municipal authorities and Sheep Husbandry department to conduct market inspection to keep check on overcharging by traders and quality of food stuff.


The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, CMO, Dr. G.A Malik, Tehsildar Haveli, Bashir Anjum Khan Khattak, District Information Officer, Vishaldeep Chandan, EO Municipality, Mushtaq Hussain, AD Food & Supply, Ranjeet Singh, Xen, PWD(R&B), Harvinder Singh, Xen PHE, Rajesh Sethi, Xen JPDCL, Mohd. Irshad, CAHO, Dr. Ravi Kumar Bhardwaj, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, FCS&CA, ARTO Poonch besides members of civil society, prominent citizens and religious heads including President DGPC Poonch, Narinder Singh, President SDS, Satish Sasan, Imam Jamia Poonch, Farooq Misbhai, Imam Raza ul uloom,Hafiz Abdul Majid Madni Advocate, Mohd. Zaman, Taj mir and others.
