Dah and Hanu hydropower projects & 66 kV transmission line will be completed in next working season
LEH December 29: Administrative Secretary, Power and New Renewable Energy (NRE), Ravinder Kumar, today chaired a meeting in his office chamber regarding the progress of 9 MW Dah hydroelectric power (HEP), 9 MW Hanu HEP and 66 kV Dah-Hanu to Khaltsi transmission line.
The concerned officials informed that 95% of the Dah and Hanu hydroelectric power project has been completed so far.
They also highlighted the issues they have been facing regarding the completion of the projects which included low manpower due to the Covid-19 crisis and delay in transportation of materials due to Ladakh’s harsh winter. Managing Director, PNR Group informed the Secretary that Dah hydroelectric power project will start functioning from January 10, 2022.
Following the discussion, Secretary, Power directed the officials to strictly maintain a daily time-sheet and analyse the monthly progress report of all the projects.
He also instructed them not to delay the completion of the remaining work any further and to finish the projects at the earliest. He added that the Power Department will provide full financial support to complete these projects.
Secretary, Power strongly emphasised the slow progress of the 66kV transmission line and discussed ways to speed up the progress.
He directed the concerned officials to increase manpower and achieve maximum progress to complete the projects within the stipulated time frame. He further instructed them to start the transmission project after February 15, 2022, and complete all the projects by the end of the next season.
