Asks officers to strengthen linkages between industrial establishments and training institutes


SRINAGAR, JULY 16: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today remarked that the contribution of Polytechnic Colleges and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) should be maximised and their linkages with industrial establishments should be strengthened by introducing new trades and courses which are viable in today's industrial world.



The Advisor made these comments while chairing a meet to review the performance of Skill Development Department (SDD) at Civil Secretariat here.


Principal Secretary SDD, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon; Secretary Tribal Affairs and Mission Director Skill Development Mission, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary; Director SDD, Sudershan Kumar, Joint Director SDD and other senior officials of the department both in person and through video conferencing.



Speaking during the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar directed the officers to provide quality education and training to the aspirants so that they imbibe better skills and get placed in the best industrial establishments.


He asked them to facilitate the youth of Jammu and Kashmir at all levels in order to make them skilled and coherent with the modern industrial standards.


The Advisor delved upon the officers to introduce those courses and trades which are market-driven.
