CEC convenes meeting of Director CIBS & Dy Secy Higher Education Ladakh to resolve CIBS degree issue


Leh, Nov 23:-To discuss and find solutions to the non-recognition of certificate issue of CIBS, Choglamsar (Deemed to be University) and its other demands and issues, the Chairman/Chief Executive Counicllor LAHDC, Leh Advocate Tashi Gyalson, and Deputy Chairman who also holds the portfolio of Higher Education called an important meeting of Director CIBS Prof. Konchok Wangdu and Deputy Secretary Higher Education UT Ladakh Nasir Mehmood Khan at Council Secretariat Leh today morning with students representatives of Students Welfare Committee, CIBS Choglamsar. Another motive of the meeting was to bring more clarity in the follow-up of CIBS and Higher Education UT Ladakh in resolving the issue and to clear the confusion of the students.


CEC Gyalson giving very patient hearing to the genuine issues of CIBS students said that LAHDC, Leh is fully aware about the issues of students and assured that no student will suffer at any cost due to non-recognition of certificate. He said that LAHDC, Leh will leave no stone unturned to resolve all the issues of CIBS Choglamsar at the earliest possible time. At the same time, CEC Gyalson appealed to students to keep academic institutions like CIBS Choglamsar away from politics.


After detail discussion on all the issues with clarification from concerned authorities, CEC directed Director CIBS Prof. Konchok Wangdu and Deputy Secretary Higher Education UT Ladakh Nasir Mehmood Khan to come up with the a clear roadmap in resolving the issue by 27th Nov at Council and assured students that their problems will be solved at the earliest possible time.

CEC directed Deputy Secretary Higher Education to study and inquire about the provision of retrospective effect in getting degree for pass out students of CIBS if CIBS Choglamsar is given an authority by Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher Education GoI in line with Rashtriya Sanskrit Sanathan (RSKS) New Delhi under which certificates/degrees awarded by the Sansthan are equivalent to the modern certificates/ degrees awarded by other University, Board and Bodies in India.

Discussing about the other solution to resolve the certificate issue which is re-affiliation of CIBS with Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi (UP) again so that all pass out students could be given retrospective effect in getting their degree in one go, CEC directed Director CIBS Prof. Konchok Wangdu to explore this possibility assuring all possible help and support from Hill Council Leh.

Other demands of CIBS like appointment of Vice-Chancellor and Controller of Examination for CIBS Choglamsar (Deemed to be University) and other issues were discussed at length in the meeting and CEC Gyalson assured that Hill Council will follow all the demands strongly with concerned ministry GoI constantly.
