Block Diwas held at 3 blocks of Kulgam

DC listens to people at Kulgam; redresses scores of issues on spot


KULGAM, June 16: The District Administration Kulgam today organized Mega Block Diwas in three blocks of the district viz. Devsar, Kulgam and D. H.Pora to take spot appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands.



The programme witnessed overwhelming response of people from Aakhran, Watigam, Behibagh, Awhatoo, Yaripora, Qaimoo, Tolinopra, Wanpora, Pombay and other areas especially from local youth.


PRI members and officers from District Administration were also present during the Block Diwas.


To take firsthand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat remained available at Kulgam where he gave patient hearing to peoples grievances and issues.


A delegation of locals from Hadigam demanded development of a link road while people from Chowgam demanded macadamization of Malbary link road.



Another delegation from Wanpora demanded shifting of Power feeder to streamline the power supply scenario in the area. People from Awhatoo demanded augmentation in transport service to the village.


People from several other areas also flagged-off various demands and put forth their issues for early redressal.


Officers on the spot responded to the queries and demands of people pertaining to their departments.


The DC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of them of immediate nature on the spot.



He directed the officers to ensure early redressal of grievances and issues of people. He also instructed the DMO to intensify vigil and ensure no illegal extraction of minerals in the district.


Meanwhile grievances redressal camps were also held at Block D.H.Pora and Devsar where Officers and officials from line departments listened to issues, grievances and demands of the public for timely redressal.
