Awareness program on prevention of child labour organised in Rajouri

RAJOURI, June 16: An awareness program on prevention of child labour was today organised here at Brick Kilns Dhangri. The event was organised on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, by the Department of Labour, Social Welfare and DLSA.

The participants were apprised that child labour refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives them of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and is mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful.


They were told that the program was organised to raise awareness about the child labour and educate the masses especially Children about the various provisions provided under Law against Child Labour.

Highlighting the need for community participation to stop child labour, the participants were appealed to participate in the government’s efforts to eradicate the menace in the district.

It was also made clear that stern action, as per the relevant norms, will be taken against the violators of child labour laws.
