Arrangements for Holi festival finalised in Rajouri
RAJOURI, March 17: The arrangements for the celebration of the festival of Colours were finalised by district administration here at a meeting of officers and representatives of religious organizations and traders.
Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal chaired the meeting attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Aslam, ADDC, Pawan Parihar; Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh and ACR, Imran Kataria.
Discussions were held on various arrangements like security deployment en-route the Bharav Janki, diversion of traffic during the procession of Bharv Janki, Cleanliness of the city, market inspections, the provision of ambulance and fire brigade tender along with procession and uninterrupted power and drinking water supply on the day of Festival.
The Senior Superintendent of Police said that an adequate number of police personnel have already been deployed en-route Bharav procession and the plan will remain the same for the day of Holi in the city to tackle any emergency situation.
He assured foolproof security during the events and also solicited the cooperation of the civil society and religious leaders to maintain law and order.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that adequate arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of Bhairav Janki and the Celebration of Holi festival.
The DC stressed upon the officers to provide all the requisite facilities such as safe drinking water, sanitation, Medicare facilities, besides critical care ambulances, adequate transport facilities, uninterrupted power supply and other necessary arrangements in this regard.
The MC Rajouri was directed to ensure cleanliness in the town during the celebrations and ensure proper street lighting.
He also directed the AD fire and emergency services to keep the fire tender in ready mode.
The Health Department was asked to depute a team of Medical officers and critical care ambulance along with the procession and also to station a critical care ambulance.
Besides the Executive Engineers, EM&RE and PHE were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the period of Holi celebrations.
"Special magistrates have been deployed in the city and enroute the Bhairav procession to tackle any law and order situation if it arises," the ADC said.
The meeting was attended by tehsildar Rajouri, Mehmood Khan, Executive Engineer, EM&RE, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, ADC FCS and CA, Mobd Arif alone, DIO Rajouri, Narinder Raina and other officers for Fire and Emergency services and Health Department.
President MC Rajouri, Mohd Arif, Councillors, Sanjay Sharma, Pushphinder Gupta; Rajesh Gupta; Rajinder Gupta, District President BJP; Subash Sharma, Chairman Refugee Cell; Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Ex VC PAB; Sushil Sharma, representing Congress; Rajinder Singh, Naveen Mahajan, District Vice President, VHP; Gourav Mahajan, District Gen.VHP; Karan Saryal, Sarpanch were also present in the meeting.
