Animal Husbandry Dept conducts awareness-cum-treatment camp at Shachukul


LEH, January 12: The Department of Animal Husbandry, Leh, organised one-day awareness-

cum-treatment camp at Shachukul village in Durbuk today.


The camp was conducted in the supervision of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VSA), Durbuk,

Dr Arif Hussain, and Senior Veterinary Pharmacist, Tashi Tundup.


It was attended by village representatives, including sarpanches, panches and nambardars. Dr Arif apprised the yak/ cattle breeders on various departmental schemes, such as KCC loans, subsidised cattle feed and benefits of formation of self-help group (SHG) under the skill development programme for training on processing yak fibre and the construction of sheds for yak.


On-spot veterinary services and free distribution of mineral mixtures were provided to farmers during the camp.
