Amid pandemic, Army provides study materials at doorsteps to DRONA Boys Hostel students in Poonch




Jammu, November 21: Amid CoVID-19 Pandemic and long closure of schools, Indian Army reaches to doorsteps of students of DRONA Boys Hostel to provide study materials to enhance their education skills.

Drona boys Hostel was raised in 1998 to provide hostel facilities towards the children of Veer Nairs, Ex-Servicemen, Serving soldiers and children of Gujjars and Bakkarwal communities hailing from militancy affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir, where schooling facilities are not available.

At present due to COVID-19 pandemic, all students of the hostel are at their respective places of residence as the schools are closed. Indian Army assisted the students in their education by providing them books / study material at their respective homes. It was a great Endeavour by the Hostel administration to help the children continue with their education even during the pandemic. A total of two sets were distributed to Drona Boys Hostel students in village Ajote district Poonch.

Veer Naris, Ex-servicemen and locals thanked and expressed their profound gratitude towards the Indian Army for distribution of books and taking this noble initiative for locals which will create a positive atmosphere between the Army and AWAM, in these remote areas.
