Advisor Farooq Khan visits Kulgam, reviews COVID mitigation efforts, inspects Hospital
Also reviews Developmental scenario of district and Implementation of SSS's, Meets several delegations
KULGAM, JUNE 01: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Farooq Ahmad Khan today visited Kulgam district and took stock of COVID mitigation efforts. He also visited district hospital Kulgam and was briefed about the patient care facilities for COVID and non-COVID patients.
Present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din- Bhat,SP Kulgam, ADC, ACR, CMO, and other officers.
During his visit, the Advisor inspected the newly commissioned 1000 LPM oxygen plant and reviewed its functioning briefly. He also took stock of the availability of oxygen inwards and availability of COVID care and other essential medicines.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din- Bhat briefed the advisor about the overall functioning of the hospital. He apprised him that there is the availability of 120 oxygenated beds at District hospital and adequate bulk cylinders, concentrators are available.
On the occasion, Advisor complimented and appreciated health care workers for their role in fighting and saving human life. He also added that the Government has augmented health care facilities and the process of augmentation of the system is a continuous process and will go on.
Later he chaired a meeting of officers here at Resthouse Chawalgam and reviewed the Developmental scenario of the district and also took stock of the implementation of social sector Schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner through a powerpoint presentation presented the overall profile of the district and also highlighted the physical and financial achievements of various projects which are under execution of various executing agencies.
It was given out that 6 work projects were taken up in the district under PMDP which includes NTPHC Srandoo, IPD block at District hospital, SDH D.H.Pora,SDH Qaimoo, and indoor stadium at Qaimoo out of which MCH Kulgam and PHC Srandoo are completed.
While reviewing the implementation of social sector Schemes the advisor stressed upon officers to sensitize people about various welfare schemes entitled to them so they can avail benefits under these schemes. He laid emphasis on the saturation of centrally sponsored and individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
Later Several delegations met Advisor which includes, transporters association, the Traders Association, the fruit Association, Awkaaf Committee members Kulgam and tribal delegations and put forth their issues and demands for early redressal.
Earlier Advisor Khan visited Sports Stadium Kulgam and inspected the proposed site identified for construction of the Indoor stadium. He also felicitated boys and girls who have won medals and awards in different sports categories at UT Level.
