Appreciates SKIMS Soura as one among best in providing best health services to people

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 04: The Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar today said that Sher-I- Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences has outstanding record of research and stand one among the best institutions in providing best health services to the people.

Advisor said this while speaking as a chief guest on the occasion of 38th Annual Day/ 3rd Convocation of SKIMS Soura held at SKICC here.

He said that the alumina of the institute have done well all over the world and have brought laurels to the Institution and J&K UT.

Laying focus on the hassle-free health services delivery, Advisor said that the government has takes up various initiatives including increasing number of medical colleges and MBBS seats in J&K to facilitate medical education to the deserving aspiring students.

On the occasion, Advisor e- inaugurated various health projects including State Cancer Institution, 100 bedded Maternity Hospital, Engineering Complex and Central Drug and Pharmacy Store.

He lauded the role of SKIMS in maintaining the quality, proper protocol and best patient care despite facing of huge rush.

Appreciating the staff, he said that all of them doctors, paramedics and other technical and non- technical staff worked with commitment and performed with high values of professionalism during the Covid-19 pandamic to conquer it.

He said that despite a toughest challenging situation, SKIMS Soura worked on the forefront to tackle it and facilitated best health services to the people. “You all at SKIMS performed your duties with full dedication, sacrifices and risked your lives to make us come out of the difficult situation” he added.

Stressing on the strengthening of Health related infrastructure, he said there has been a major change witnessed in past few years while as more focus shall be given on the development of the health related assets under various funds.

Besides 2 medical colleges, oxygen generation plants shall be established at all 37 Covid Health Centres in J&K, while as separate Rs 2000 crores have been allotted for established 2 AIIMS hospitals in the UT.

On the occasion, Advisor congratulated the graduate pass outside and impressed upon them to serve the people in best capacity and ensure best patient care to the people wherever they work as doctors.

FC Health and Medical Education, Atul Dulloo, VC Kashmir University Talat Ahmad, Director SKIMS Soura, AG Ahangar, VC Jammu University Dr Manoj Kumar Dhar, Principal SKIMS Bemina, Dr Reyaz Untoo, Dean of Medical Faculty Dr Omar J Shah, Former Director MS Khuroo and Organising Chairman Dr Nisar A Chowdri also spoke on the occasion.

A team of doctors as covid warriors were facilitated with life time award on the occasion. Various doctors, paramedics and other staff members of SKIMS Soura were also facilitated for their best performances during the year.
