Inspects RDD development works, listens Public grievances
SAMBA, APRIL 8: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan today visited District Samba and inspected various developmental works under Rural Development Department and also participated in a public grievance camp organized at conference hall DC office samba. During the tour programme, Advisor accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, Director RDD Surdershan kumar, visited Rural Hatt at Swankha morh, Pond Chapri at Thalori and Panchayat Ghar Badhori.
The construction of storage (Godwon) of Rural Hatt near Panchayat Channi manshassa, Swankha morh is carried out at 15 Lac under CD & PYT scheme in the year 2019-20 while the construction cost of Panchayat Ghar at Badheri is 35.44Lac under RGSA scheme. The other development work of RDD included construction of Bathing Ghat at Badheri, construction of CFC Daini, and construction of Cremation shed at Daini.
Advisor Khan while inspecting the development works said that there rural infrastructure should be optimum utilized for overall betterment of the rural society. He said the rural hatt, at swankha should be used as a platform for promotion of products under SHGS, NRLM, small scale industries, agro based industries and products under ‘one district one product’ programme. He also directed DDC for using IEC activities for generating maximum awareness among the locals.
Advisor Khan while visiting the water body (pond) laid emphasis upon enriching water harvesting techniques which will be beneficial for irrigation purposes in these kandi area besides it will also cater the need of sustaining rural economy in shape of Aquaculture. Advisor Khan stressed on making the panchayat ghar as a hub of rural activities and an institute for a vibrant model panchayat. He also directed the Director RDD for submitting the left outs details in his office for early sanctioning of panchayat ghar in each panchayat.
Advisor Baseer Khan later in the day met with scores of groups and individuals at conference hall DC office Samba as a part of Public Grievance redressal mechanism.
District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma, District Development Council Vice-Chairman Balwan Singh and DDC members appraised the Advisor about present ground condition of various department schemes and public issues like payment under MGNREGA, Repairing of Hand Pumps, proposal for new water supply schemes, Mining issue, SBM liabilities, Road Connectivity issues, Erratic power supply, Border area issues, compensation of land acquired issues and other public grievances.
Advisor Khan patiently listened to all the public grievances raised and assured that each grievance shall be thoroughly pondered upon and appropriate action for early redressal shall also be ensured.
Advisor directed District Administration Samba for pro-actively working on public grievances in a time bound manner besides regular holding public grievance redressal camps should be adopted added Advisor Khan.
Advisor Khan exhorted upon all the Panchayati Raj institutions representatives present on the occasion to become agent of change as they are the primary building Blocks of a vibrant panchayat which will enable a sustainable growth. He emphasized upon the panchayat members to plan, orgranize, staff, direct and supervise all the development works in there area besides also hold meetings with their ward members for assessing their needs and development works. Advisor also directed District administration to regularly hold capacity building training programmes for all the elected members of panchayat.
The public grievance delegation included farmers, industrialist, students, border welfare organization, municipal committee member Panches Sarpanches and general public.
