ADDC Doda discusses issue of hostel accommodation for Paramedical students with GMC management
DODA, June 06: Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, Pran Singh today chaired a meeting of officials of Government Medical College Doda and discussed the issue of hostel accommodation for Paramedical students.
The meeting was informed that all 198 MBBS students have been shifted to the Medical College hostel building in the main campus at Ghat. However there was no provision of providing accommodation to 90 Paramedical students enrolled by the GMC Doda .
The GMC authorities said that there was no provision of providing free hostel accommodation to the Paramedical students. “The College authorities can only facilitate them in getting suitable accommodation at their own expenses” the GMC officials said.
The GMC authorities also sought immediate attention of the administration for construction of compound wall, providing police security and basic amenities on the campus, including street lights and safe drinking water etc.
The ADDC directed the GMC to give the requisitions in writing so that the same can be presented before the concerned authority for early redressal. The meeting was attended by ACR Doda, CAO GMC Doda, MS Associated Hospital GMC Doda, DIO Doda, Registrar Academics GMC Doda, Incharge Hostels / Coordinator MBBS students, and Coordinator Paramedical Students GMC Doda.
