ADC reviews implementation of District Environment plan at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, June 08: To review the implementation of the District Environment Plan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Mohammad Syed Khan chaired a meeting of the District Environment Committee here at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
Threadbare discussion were held on the execution of Solid Waste Management plan, Biomedical Waste Management, Plastic waste management, Construction and demolition waste management, Pollution abatement in non-attainment cities, pollution control in identified river stretches, Industrial Waste Water Management plan, Domestic Sewerage Management, Mining Activity Management, Hazardous waste, E-waste management, Water quality management, Restoration of water bodies etc.
While reviewing the status of implementation of the solid waste management plan, the ADC directed the MC to ensure scientific and regulated disposal of the same and timely completion of the MRF project.
The Executive Officer MC informed the Committee that site for MRF has been identified and AAA has been accorded. He further informed that the site for dumping of construction and demolition waste has been identified and land transfer case was under process.
The ADC asked for avoiding single use plastic bottles in the offices and instead making arrangements for safe drinking water. The District Officer Pollution Control Committee called for the constitution of enforcement squads to curb the menace of polythene. The EOs of MC Udhampur, Chenani and Ramnagar informed that they have established the collection points in their areas as per the NGT directions.
