2-Day course on intellectual property rights concludes at SKPA Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, May 11: The two day long course on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ which commenced on May 10, 2022, concluded here today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur.
Around 13 officers from different units/wings of J&K Police participated in the training programme.
A wide range of deliberations were held on Intellectual Property Rights patents and trademarks, Case studies of Biotechnology and case studies of patents in other areas, Legal framework for enforcement and role of police, Counterfeiting and Piracy in physical and digital world etc.
Eminent speakers including Dr. Savita Nayyar, Department of Law, University of Jammu, Kamal Sharma, CPO CID Hqrs., Anuja Khushu, senior journalist and Advocate Megha Choudhary, Ph.D scholar, Jammu University delivered lectures and shared their valuable experience.
A valediction function was organized in the Sher-I Kashmir Police Academy. In his valedictory address, Vinay Kumar, SSP, Dy. Director (Admn.) SKPA raised serious concerns on the nexus between violation of IPRs and other organized crimes like terror funding etc., which causes a serious threat to public safety and security of the country.
He also emphasized on the need for equipping police officer with appropriate knowledge and training. The course was coordinated by Sunmati Gupta, Dy.SP, Asstt. Director (Q) and Shankar Bhadure, Dy.SP.
