NSS Unit GDCW Kathua organized Awareness Rally 

KATHUA, May 24: An awareness Rally was organized by NSS Unit in Collaboration with NCC and Road Safety Club of college on the theme of “Reduce Carbon Emission, Plastic and Save Environment” under the aegis Indian presidency of G20 on 24-05-2023.

The rally was flagged off by Dr Savi Behl, esteemed Principal of the College in presence of Dr. Arun Dev Singh NSS Programme Officer, Dr Vaishno Devi ANO NCC.  Satish Khajuria, Convener College Road Safety Club, Prof Pallavi, Prof Raj Kumari and Dr Rajni (members organizing team of NSS). It was started from college and returned from Nagri Adda and culminated in the college. Near about 70 NSS Volunteers, 50 NCC Cadets and 20 students from Road Safety club participated in the rally.

The purpose of the rally was to spread message among the young students and people regarding the importance of Environment and reduction carbon and plastic use and its purpose to encourage and aware people to use Bicycle, solar energy and electric sources which would reduce air pollution. Dr. Savi Behl addressed the rally and conveyed the volunteers and the people that they must be aware about environmental issues which cause many diseases among the people and motivated them that they should aware the people of adjoining areas and especially public. She appreciated the NSS Volunteers, NCC cadets and Road Safety Volunteers who have made their efforts for presenting ideas and thoughts through Slogans, banners, play carts, and charts for educating the people to reduce carbon and plastic during the rally. She said that the younger generation is the future of country and they can contribute and guide the people in a better way. Dr Arun Dev Singh, NSS Programme officer, Spoke on the occasion and motivated the students to come forward and aware the people to reduce those sources which are generally producing Pollution and spreading diseases among the people, he urged the NSS volunteers and NCC Cadets to come forward use tools like cycle, solar energy, and electric energy to reduce pollution.

They must take measures as soon as possible through their awareness Programmes in their respective Places to curb this dangerous situation and try to save future generation and environment. He also extended special thanks to the media persons who covered the rally.
