MVD Ramban conducts enforcement drive, bike rally

RAMBAN, January 17: “Road Safety Week 2023’ concluded today in the district Ramban with conduct of enforcement drive and a bike rally organised by Motor Vehicle Department (MVD)..

Implementing the directions issued by the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, on last day of the National Road Safety Week, ARTO, along with joint enforcement team   removed the illegally parked vehicles from road sides in Ramban town, besides organizing a bike rally.

The Motor Vehicle Department, Ramban in coordination with other departments, members of Transport Union, Drivers, Conductors, local public, and staff members organized various activities during  “Road Safety Week 2023’ and ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ to sensitise the youth, drivers, and local population about the road safety norms and rules and the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness.

Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Samrinder Singh and all the stakeholder departments, including Traffic and District Police, highlighted the different aspects of road safety and the importance of wearing seat belts and helmets in saving the precious life of an individual.

They stressed the need for strict adherence to the traffic norms and appreciated cooperation provided by the District Administration for disseminating awareness about road safety rules and regulations. They also highlighted the responsibilities of the general public in implementing the traffic rules. 

ARTO informed that during the ongoing road safety week, the MVD Ramban has organized various informative activities including health checkup camps, rallies, and awareness programmes apart from checking vehicles across the district.

He informed that the Swachhta campaign was conducted as a part of ‘`Road Safety Week 2023’, under which the department in coordination with other stakeholders.
