MBU drive: UIDAI R.O Chandigarh organizes mega camp held at HSS Nadihal Bandipora
BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 27: Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, School Education department, Kashmir, organised a mega Aadhaar Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) camp at the HSS Nadihal, Bandipora.
The camp was held under the supervision of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora, accompanied by ZEO Bandipora, DNO Aadhaar and Aadhaar heads.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, parents, and school authorities, ensuring smooth biometric updates without disrupting academic schedules. The effort has significantly enhanced outreach in rural areas.
The focus remains on children in the age groups of 0–5 years and 15–17 years, which are crucial for Aadhaar biometric updates. The exercise ensures accuracy in Aadhaar records, reducing errors related to names, dates of birth, and biometrics.
Accurate Aadhaar details play a vital role in enabling students to appear for competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, UPSC, and other national-level tests, where Aadhaar-based verification is mandatory. Updated records also facilitate seamless access to scholarships, welfare schemes, higher education admissions, and services like passport issuance.
Officials from the Regional Office Chandigarh reiterated that Aadhaar is not just an identity document but an enabler of opportunities. Timely biometric updates safeguard students from potential hurdles in their educational and professional journey.
State Project Manager UIDAI J&K, urged parents to actively send their children for biometric updates to ensure their Aadhaar remains accurate and active.
