JKAACL Hosts “Meet the Eminent Author” Featuring Renowned Writer Sh. Prakash Premi
Jammu, 09 December: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organised a special literary interaction, “Meet the Eminent Author,” at K.L. Saigal Hall, Jammu, featuring renowned Dogri writer Sh. Prakash Premi, Sahitya Akademi Awardee and recipient of the J&K UT Award 2025, from Udhampur.

Welcoming the guests, Smt. Harvinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL, highlighted the profound literary contributions of Sh. Premi and his pivotal role in enriching Dogri literature. She, along with Smt. Sonali Arun Gupta, Additional Secretary, and Dr. Javaid Rahi, Divisional Head (Jammu), felicitated the eminent writer with a shawl and citation, acknowledging his decades-long dedication to literature.
A scholarly paper on the life and literary journey of Sh. Prakash Premi was presented by Dr. Tarsem Raina, HOD Dogri, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, offering insightful reflections on his works and legacy.
After the presentation, Sh. Prakash Premi interacted with the audience and shared a detailed account of his literary journey, creative inspirations and experiences spanning several decades.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of several eminent literary personalities including Padma Shri Lalit Magotra, Padma Shri Mohan Singh, Padma Shri Romalo Ram, Sh. Inderjeet Kesar, Sh. D.K. Vaid, Sh. Shivdev Singh Susheel, Capt. Lalit Sharma, Dr. Lalit Gupta, Sh. Randhir Singh Raipuria, Dr. Padam Dev Singh, Prof. Raj Kumar, Dr. Ashok Kumar, and Sh. Sheikh Mohd. Kalyan.
A highlight of the programme was the release of Sh. Premi’s 25th book, the Dogri translation of “Shatak Tray” from Sanskrit, marking another significant milestone in his literary career.
The programme was conducted and concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Smt. Reeta Khadyal, Editor Dogri, who acknowledged the presence of dignitaries, writers, and literature enthusiasts.
