J&K Govt revises ex-gratia relief for law & order victims, compensation up to ₹5 lakh

Jammu, Dec 3: J&K Government has announced a revised ex-gratia relief structure for those affected during law and order disturbances. Compensation now ranges from ₹2–5 lakh for death, ₹75,000 for permanent disability, and ₹20,000 for partial disability, covering magistrates, police personnel, SPOs, and ex-servicemen. The new consolidated guidelines aim to streamline disbursement under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) mechanism and provide uniform support to affected individuals and their families.
