Health Department Ramban organises Kusht Mukti Abhiyaan to mark Gandhi Jayanti
RAMBAN, OCTOBER 2: To mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Health Department Ramban today observed Kusht Mukti Abhiyaan at District Hospital under the guidance of Director Health Services Jammu and overall supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kamal Jeet Zadoo.
The awareness programme was held under the supervision of Medical Superintendent District Hospital Dr. Mohammad Rafi (Orthopaedics), with the active participation of Block Medical Officers including BMO Batote Dr. Opinder Singh, BMO Banihal Dr. Shabir, BMO Ukheral Dr. Rehman, DHO Ramban Dr. Mohammad Iqbal and BMO Gool.
The initiative focused on educating the public about leprosy—its signs, symptoms, importance of early diagnosis, and availability of complete treatment. IEC material was distributed among the general public through PMA Dharm Pal Sharma, who also delivered a lecture to sensitize people about prevention and timely management of the disease.
On the occasion, health officials reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen awareness campaigns at the grassroots level and ensure early detection and effective treatment of leprosy cases across Ramban district.
