Farmers exposure visit flagged-off from Bandipora to MLRI Mansbal

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 15: An exposure visit of progressive dairy and poultry farmers was flagged-off on Monday from Bandipora to the Mountain Livestock Research Institute (MLRI), Mansbal under ATMA 2025-26.
The program was attended by the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Bandipora, Livestock Development Officer, Sumbal, and other officers/officials of the department.

The farmers, accompanied by the Livestock Development Officer Sumbal and departmental officials, upon reaching the venue visited various units of MLRI where they were briefed about modern livestock practices.
They also observed the functioning of the Milk Processing Unit, Feed Making Unit, Silage Making Unit, Vermicompost Unit, and several other facilities, gaining first-hand knowledge about the techniques being adopted at the institute.

Technical experts of MLRI shared detailed insights with the farmers regarding the management, utility, and benefits of these units. The exposure helped the farmers to enhance their technical understanding and encouraged them to adopt improved practices in dairy and poultry farming.

On the occasion, farmers urged for the continuation of such initiatives in the future to further strengthen livestock development in the district.
