Extension Lecture on ‘Solid Waste Management’ organised in GDC Ramgarh  

SAMBA, May 26:  Government Degree College Ramgarh today organised an Extension Lecture on ‘Solid Waste Management’ under the ‘Mission LiFE’ and as part of a series of activities being organised to mark the celebrations of World Environment Day.

With due guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, the event was organised by  Eco Club and G20 cell to celebrate India’s G20 Presidency and MY COLLEGE MY PRIDE.

Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, emphasized upon the importance of generating awareness amongst the students to equip them with the requisite information to stand against the growing menace of Solid Waste. Further, she said that waste management includes the processes and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal.

Dr. Anjali Bala, Dept. of EVS, in her lecture, discussed the solid waste management process in detail which includes collection, transportation, treatment, analysis and disposal of waste under strict regulations and guidelines.

Prof. Risha Kumari, Convener,  Eco Club said that solid waste management is very important for the safe disposal of wastes to reduce environmental pollution & avoid any health hazards that it may cause.

During the interactive session, students expressed their appreciation and curiosity for such an interesting and engaging subject. The two way exchange of information was very effective and enlightening.
