Encounter erupts in Kishtwar’s Chhatru; Army, J&K Police engage terrorists in Joint Operation
Kishtwar, Nov 5: An encounter broke out early Wednesday morning in the Chhatru area of Jammu and Kashmir’s district Kishtwar after security forces launched a coordinated joint operation based on specific intelligence inputs received.
Troops from the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, established contact with terrorists hiding in the general forest area of Chhatru.

The exchange of fire began early this morning, while the operation is still underway.
As per the officials, two to three terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the area. The operation, codenamed Op Chhatru, is part of intensified counter-terror efforts in the region to tackle every effort to create unrest and disturb the peace.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and are continuously combing the area. Further details and information are awaited as the operation continues.
