ECI enforces MCC and AI guidelines ahead of bye-elections
Delhi, Oct 09: The Election Commission of India directed the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and the relevant guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence for the synthetic videos targeting rival parties and candidates. The bye-elections to 8 Assembly Constituencies were announced on October 6, 2025. The Model Code of Conduct includes the content posted by the candidates and political parties on social media. Further, the Election Commission of India warns the parties and candidates that any violation of these guidelines would be dealt strictly.
