DLSA Shopian Celebrates International Girl Child Day
SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 11: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian today marked the International Girl Child Day with a vibrant and informative event at the Mohammadiya Institute in Shopian.
The program, aimed at empowering young girls and raising awareness about their legal rights, saw a large and enthusiastic participation from female students and teachers across the district.
The event was graced by Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC) Shopian, Rafie Ahamd Ganai and Deputy LADC Shopian, Dawood Ahmad Khan who engaged with the attendees, highlighting the crucial importance of the day and the rights guaranteed to every girl child and woman.
In his address, Chief LADC, apprised the audience about the various legal provisions and statutes protecting child rights and women’s rights in India. He emphasized the role of legal awareness in combating social injustices and encouraged the girls to be informed and assertive of their rights from a young age.
The program was conducted under the guidance and instructions of Chairman of DLSA Shopian, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhury, and Secretary of DLSA Shopian, Mudasar Farooq underscoring the institution’s unwavering commitment to promoting gender justice and legal literacy at the grassroots level.
The event served as a significant platform for interactive dialogue, where students had the opportunity to engage with legal experts, fostering a sense of empowerment and confidence among the next generation of women leaders.
