DC Samba holds block divas at Purmandal Panchayat

SAMBA, March 15: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta, accompanied by district officers of various departments held weekly Block Divas meeting, here at remote Purmandal Panchayat.

DDC Member Purmandal, Avtar Singh, ADDC Rajinder Singh, ADC Rakesh Dubey, ACD Sidharath. Dhiman, tehsildar, CEO, CHO, CAO, Ex. Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD, BDO and several other district officers, block level officers and PRI members attended block divas.

The locals raised the issues of augmentation of power scenario, macadamization of rural roads, soil erosion, completion of pending development works, water shortage in Deon and nearby villages, strengthening medical infrastructure, Bus Stand issue, mining issue and transport issue etc.

The Deputy Commissioner sought department wise response to the issues projected during Block Divas in the presence of PRI members and resolved several grievances on the spot amidst coordination of line departments and discussion with district head officers.

The DC said that public outreach programmes such as Block Divas are devised to reach to the doorstep of the people and redress their problems with the intervention of concerned departments besides assessing the progress of developmental works.

DC enquired status of Solid Waste Management in panchayats including door to door collection and exhorted to bring behavioural change towards cleanliness around villages and public areas.

Deputy Commissioner informed that with regard to functional household tap water 75% households have been covered under the scheme in district while left outs will be also covered before deadline of mid this year while shortage of water shall be sufficed through other sources like water tankers etc.

DC appreciated that 100% physical as well as financial achievement has been reported in District Capex & ADF funds allocation in Purmandal.

DC laid emphasis on resolving of local issues through inter department coordination with active involvement of PRI members. She also assured that policy matters would be taken up at appropriate level for its early resolution.
